Shipping & Returns Policy

At YD, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, ISO-certified Solar Eclipse Glasses to ensure you have a safe viewing experience. This policy is an integral part of the Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict, the Terms & Conditions prevail and it outlines the terms of delivery and your rights regarding returns, in compliance with Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014 and Decree-Law no. 84/2021.

 Shipping Policy

1. Processing Time

  • Standard Processing: Orders are typically processed and dispatched within [1-2] business days.

  • Order Cut-off: Orders placed before [e.g., 14:00 WET] on business days are usually dispatched the same day.

  • Eclipse Season Rush: As the Solar Eclipse date approaches, order volume increases significantly. During these peak times, processing may take up to 3 business days. We strongly advise ordering early to guarantee delivery before the event.

2. Shipping Methods & Estimates

We ship to all of Portugal, including Mainland Portugal, the Azores, and Madeira, using CTT (Correios de Portugal) and Other Couriers.

Under Portuguese law, we guarantee delivery within a maximum of 30 days.

3. Shipping Costs

  • Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on the weight of your order and the destination.l.

4. Unclaimed Packages

If a package is returned to us because it was unclaimed (e.g., incorrect address provided by the customer or failure to pick up from a CTT point within the deadline), we will contact you. Reshipping the item will be subject to a new shipping and handling fee to be paid by the customer.

Returns & Refunds

 

1. The option of withdrawal (B2C only)

Consumers have 14 days to change their minds and return the products.

  • Digital Withdrawal Button: In compliance with EU Directive 2023/2673, you may trigger your return via the "Withdraw from Contract" button in the relevant field that would be updated till the first of June . Until than you are obliged to follow the steps in clause 5 - How to return.  

  • Mandatory Safety Exception: Under Article 17(e) of DL 24/2014, the right of withdrawal is excluded for sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or safety reasons if they are unsealed after delivery. Once the individual protective seal of the solar glasses is broken, the item cannot be returned.

3. Post-Eclipse Returns and Diminishing value 

  • Loss of Value: Solar eclipse glasses are highly seasonal goods. Returns initiated after the date of the celestial event (August 12, 2026) result in a 100% reduction in the refund amount, as the commercial value of the product reaches zero once the event has passed (DL 24/2014, Art. 14).

  • Handling: Any handling of the product beyond what is necessary to establish its nature (e.g., removing it from the protective sleeve) will result in a refund deduction.

4. Recommended Return Deadline (July 20)

To avoid issues with shipping delays and the "Diminished Value" clause above, we strongly recommend that any returns be initiated and posted by July 20, 2026.

  • Returns initiated after this date carry a high risk of arriving after the event has passed.

5. How to Return

  1. Notify Us: Email us at SoleSalvo26@gmail.com with your Order ID. You have up to 14 day from date of purchase to do it. 

  2. Ship: Mail the sealed unopened items back to us.

  3. Cost: The consumer is responsible for the direct cost of return shipping.  

  4. Refund: Upon receipt and inspection of the sealed goods, we will refund the cost of the items after reduction of the original shipping fee.

Defective Items & Warranty

 Damaged or Defective Goods

Your safety is our priority. The return restrictions above do not apply to damaged or defective goods.

  • Inspect Immediately:  inspect your glasses immediately upon arrival and report visible defects within 48 hours to expedite courier claims.

  • Do Not Use: If you see any scratches, punctures, or separation of the filter from the frame, DO NOT USE the glasses to look at the sun.

  • Report: Contact us within 48 hours of delivery acceptence with photos of the defect. We will arrange a free replacement or full refund immediately.
